Department of Biomedical, Health and Exercise Sciences Full-time, ongoing position at our Hawthorn campus Academic Level C or D salary 17% super and staff benefits About the Role We are seeking an experienced Senior Lecturer (Level C) or Associate Professor (Level D) with demonstrated experience in Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Health to join the Department of Biomedical, Health and Exercise Sciences in delivering the Bachelor of Health Science degree. This role will support our new major in Artificial Intelligence and Digital Health to prepare our Health Science students for future-focused careers in the health sector across various fields. The position will work in collaboration with the Course Director, Department Chair and academic colleagues across the School of Health Sciences to deliver a new and advanced teaching program. Utilising your expertise and experience in AI in Health, as well as Digital Health, you will lead and contribute to curriculum development in both undergraduate and postgraduate programs, as well as contribute to other associated degrees across the department and the school. This is an excellent opportunity to develop a new and dynamic academic program, with close contacts to other Schools in the university with internationally recognised leaders in the AI field. As part of the role, you will also develop and build a high-quality research program aligned with your area of expertise. You will supervise Honours and Higher Degree Research (HDR) students, as well as actively apply for competitive research grants and industry-supported research projects. The successful candidate will convene and teach undergraduate units, contribute to development and delivery of academic programs, and lead a dynamic research program, including supervising research students. About You To be suitable for this role, you will need to have experience in the following key accountabilities: Demonstrated expertise in designing, managing and delivering high-quality curriculum that supports excellence in teaching and learning. Strong knowledge of the application of artificial intelligence within the healthcare sector is highly desirable (Essential for a Level D appointment). An established track record of quality research as evidenced by high quality publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals and conference presentations. Demonstrated ability to attract/obtain external research funding through competitive grants and/or industry collaboration. Professional skills such as strategic leadership (Essential for a Level D appointment) , resourcefulness, initiative, the ability to meet tight deadlines, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary environment. Knowledge of the application of Digital Health is preferred. Qualifications A doctoral qualification or an established research career in an area related to the application of artificial intelligence. Preference will be given to applicants with expertise in Health-related areas. A teaching qualification (preferred but not essential).
