This is a strategic and hands-on role for an experienced HR professional who thrives in complex environments, brings strong IR/ER and WHS expertise , and is passionate about creating psychologically safe, compliant, and high-performing workplaces—particularly within community and human services. About the role Reporting to the Executive Manager, People & Culture , you will partner closely with senior leaders and operational teams to deliver high-quality HR advice, lead complex employee relations matters, and drive people-focused change aligned to CatholicCare’s mission and strategic plan. You’ll be a trusted advisor, coach and mentor - supporting managers to lead well, manage risk, and build engaged, capable teams. What your days will look like Being the go-to expert on complex IR/ER matters, investigations, and dispute resolution Championing workplace safety, injury prevention and psychosocial wellbeing Coaching leaders to confidently manage performance, behaviour, change and risk Leading people and culture initiatives that genuinely improve workforce outcomes Translating legislation, awards and policy into practical, people-centred advice Building strong, collaborative relationships across a large, mission-driven organisation What you’ll bring Tertiary qualifications in HR, Business or a related discipline 7 years’ experience in senior HR advisory or business partnering roles Demonstrated expertise in IR/ER, WHS, injury management and psychosocial risk Strong experience interpreting Awards and legislation (SCHADS and Children’s Services highly regarded) A calm, pragmatic and values-led approach to complex and sensitive matters Excellent influencing, coaching and relationship-building skills Experience in community services, NFP or human services (highly desirable) Why join CatholicCare?
