Our Communications Department is seeking a Communications Officer. The role is a temporary role for up to 12 months to cover a period of parental leave. Purpose: We're looking for a communications professional to join our team to help develop and implement a wide range of communications strategies to promote Council's services, projects and facilities. This role would suit a former journalist, copywriter, marketing professional or a communications professional who loves writing and is able to craft effective copy for different audiences across a range of mediums. About the role: Write and produce Council’s weekly eNews bulletin. Research and write speeches as required for Council’s spokespeople including the Mayor. Develop and implement communications plans to inform the community about Council’s projects, events and initiatives, promote and improve Randwick City Council’s reputation and enhance community understanding of Council’s role, services and achievements. About you: Tertiary qualifications in communications, media or related field with extensive hands-on experience in a related position. Knowledge and experience creating content for electronic direct mail campaigns, social media platforms and websites. Proven experience in and ability to communicate complex and technical information in plain English to suit a wide range of communications channels.
