Job Description Expression of Interest – Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Truck Driver Traineeship (Certificate III in Driving Operations) Multiple locations across Queensland Full-time or Part-time | 12–18 month traineeship Australian Training Works (ATW) is inviting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to register their interest in upcoming Truck Driver Traineeships with major corporate host employers across Queensland. This is a genuine career pathway into the transport, logistics and supply chain industry, one of the fastest growing sectors in Australia. About the traineeship This is a paid job where you will work with a large corporate employer while completing a Certificate III in Driving Operations over 12 to 18 months . You will gain hands-on experience, professional mentoring and nationally recognised qualifications that lead to long-term employment in the heavy vehicle and logistics industry. Licences and tickets you will gain As part of this traineeship, you will be supported to obtain industry-required licences and certifications, including: MR (Medium Rigid) Driver Licence HR (Heavy Rigid) Driver Licence HC (Heavy Combination) Driver Licence (where required) Forklift Licence (LF) Load Restraint & Chain of Responsibility Fatigue Management Dangerous Goods Awareness (where applicable) Workplace Health & Safety training These licences are highly valuable and recognised across the transport industry nationwide. What you’ll be doing Depending on your host employer, you may be involved in: Driving heavy vehicles Delivering freight and goods Loading and unloading trucks Using forklifts and equipment Completing delivery paperwork Working in warehouses and distribution centres Learning logistics and transport operations Who this is for We are looking for people who: Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Want a long-term career , not just a job Are reliable and motivated Are willing to learn and follow safety procedures Hold (or are willing to obtain) a C class driver licence No previous truck driving experience is required — we train you from the ground up.
