Staff Specialist Psychiatrist Forensic and Secure Mental Health Services – Brisbane, QLD The Role An outstanding opportunity exists for an experienced Staff Specialist Psychiatrist to join a leading Forensic and Secure Mental Health Service in Brisbane. The service delivers specialist psychiatric care across: High Security Inpatient Service (70 beds) Secure Mental Health Rehabilitation Service (34 beds) Extended Forensic Treatment & Rehabilitation Unit (20 beds) Prison Mental Health Service Statewide Mental Health Intellectual Disability Service You will provide clinical leadership within the High Security Inpatient Service, ensuring high-quality, safe, and coordinated mental health care delivered by a skilled multidisciplinary workforce. Key Responsibilities Provide senior clinical leadership to a multidisciplinary forensic mental health team Deliver high-quality, evidence-based psychiatric care in a secure setting Ensure effective risk management for patients, staff, and visitors Promote a strong culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement Contribute to efficient utilisation of clinical and operational resources Participate in performance development and 1:1 professional review processes About You You will be a motivated and experienced psychiatrist with a strong interest in forensic and secure mental health services. Key Capabilities & Experience Fellowship of the RANZCP (or equivalent eligibility) Demonstrated clinical expertise in forensic mental health care Proven ability to lead and manage multidisciplinary clinical teams Strong understanding of contemporary mental health service delivery in secure environments Excellent communication, leadership, and risk-management skills Why This Role?
