About The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the Stapylton Sewerage Network Upgrade, a major program of works being delivered for the City of Gold Coast. This upgrade will significantly increase capacity across the Stapylton catchment, supporting future population growth and ensuring long‑term environmental compliance. The project includes approximately 15 kilometres of gravity and rising sewer mains, two new pump stations, and the renewal and decommissioning of existing sewerage assets along the corridor from Ormeau to Eagleby. As Senior Project Manager, you will hold full responsibility for project leadership, commercial performance, stakeholder engagement and delivery outcomes. This role is suited to a seasoned project leader with deep experience in water and wastewater infrastructure, strong commercial acumen and a proven ability to manage complex, multi‑site delivery environments. Key Responsibilities Include Leading end‑to‑end project delivery to achieve program, budget, safety and quality objectives Developing and executing project delivery strategies, staging, methodologies and risk frameworks Providing high‑level technical and delivery leadership across complex sewer network and pipeline works Managing multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors and suppliers across multiple work fronts Overseeing procurement planning, contract negotiation and supply‑chain performance Driving commercial management including cost control, forecasting, reporting and claims Leading contract administration, variations, progress claims and client reporting Ensuring compliance with WHS, environmental and quality management systems Building and maintaining strong relationships with the client, authorities, landowners and stakeholders Coaching and developing Project Engineers, Site Engineers and emerging leaders Representing Abergeldie as the senior project lead in all internal and external forums What You’ll Bring To The Team A tertiary qualification in Civil or Mechanical Engineering Extensive experience delivering water and wastewater infrastructure projects at Senior Project Manager level Demonstrated success managing major civil, linear or utilities projects with multiple work zones Strong commercial and contractual capability, including NEC, AS and collaborative contract models Proven ability to lead high‑performing teams and foster a positive, solutions‑focused culture Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trust and influence outcomes A proactive, strategic mindset with the ability to navigate complex technical and delivery challenges A strong commitment to safety, quality and collaborative project delivery Why You Should Work With Us Our people are what make Abergeldie successful, and we make sure this is the kind of place where great people enjoy working for the long term.
