As the first point of contact, the officer is responsible for welcoming patients and visitors, confirming Medicare eligibility, and directing individuals to the appropriate clinical areas. Because the Emergency Department provides a 24/7 service, the position requires the flexibility to work a rotating roster covering all hours and days of the week. Key responsibilities include maintaining a professional reception environment, supporting the Patient Liaison and Admission teams, and ensuring that all patient data is handled with the highest level of confidentiality and accuracy. Ideal candidates will possess a Certificate III in Health Administration or at least two years of experience in a similar healthcare setting. Proficiency in IT systems, specifically Microsoft Office and inpatient management databases such as WebPAS, is highly regarded, along with an understanding of medical terminology.
