We’re looking for a motivated, detail‑focused Purchasing Officer to join our fast‑paced Purchasing team. This role suits someone who enjoys accurate data entry, supporting purchasing processes, and working in a friendly, collaborative team. We need someone reliable, curious, and comfortable switching between tasks as priorities change. In this role, you’ll play an important part in keeping our purchasing workflow running smoothly. You will: Be responsible for the governance process related to purchasing functions; High volume Invoice receipting; Enter purchasing data quickly and accurately; Work with internal teams to clarify requests or missing information; Track and follow up on outstanding orders and deliveries in a timely manner Your work will help keep everything moving by making sure our teams get what they need, when they need it — and you’ll play a key role in that process. What we're looking for We’re looking for someone who enjoys helping others, thrives in a busy environment, and brings a positive, flexible approach to their work. You’ll be supporting a team that receives a high volume of queries, so being able to stay calm, friendly, and responsive is key. If you enjoy understanding what people need, providing great service, and keeping things moving, you’ll fit right in. You'll bring Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to switch tasks and priorities as needed; A friendly, approachable manner, able to “read the room” and understand what people need; Strong customer service skills, with confidence handling a high volume of queries; Good computer literacy, especially in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; Great communication and stakeholder engagement skills, both written and verbal; Preferably experience in purchasing or familiarity with purchasing processes — but we’re more than happy to train the right person who’s eager to learn. The Details This permanent role can be based in either Hobart, Launceston, or Devonpor t and attracts a salary of $82,680.88 – $87,274.25 (inclusive of superannuation), negotiable dependent on experience.
