For questions contact our JMO Recruitment Team via CCLHD-MWEUJMORecruit@health.nsw.gov.au What you'll be doing The primary responsibility for the Career Medical Officer (CMO) is the provision of sexual health care to patients in the Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD). The position supports the provision of specialised HIV and sexual health care to community-based sexual health clinical services and consultancy for inpatients requiring HIV and sexual health care. The position will operate in accordance with NSW strategies including NSW HIV Strategy 2016-2020, NSW Sexually Transmissible Infections Strategy 2016-2020, NSW Hepatitis C Strategy 2014-2020, NSW Hepatitis B Strategy 2014-2020, NSW Aboriginal Blood Borne Viruses and Sexually Transmissible Infections Framework 2016-2021 and NSW Health and Central Coast LHD policy directives and guidelines as relevant. The Sexual health service is based at Gosford and provides clinics at locations across the Central Coast catchment. The sexual health service is part of HIV & Related Programs (HARP), together with sexual health promotion and the needle and syringe program. HARP sits within the Directorate of Community, Chronic and Complex Care. MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia. Postgraduate experience in sexual health or related area of clinical practice in the Australian health care system or equivalent. Demonstrated understanding of the principles and practice of sexual health medicine to manage the sexual health needs of patients Demonstrated ability to deal with individuals from diverse communities and backgrounds, individuals who are most vulnerable to adverse sexual health outcomes, and clients in crisis Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills, high level computer literacy and ability to use health information systems Demonstrated effective time management and problem solving skills in a clinical setting Evidence of continued professional development, commitment to self-education, and experience and willingness to teach health professionals Demonstrated commitment to Caring for the Coast vision, goals and strategies, with demonstrated behaviours which align with the NSW Health CORE values and CCLHD Values and behaviours charter.
