Role Overview We are seeking a highly experienced Directory Services Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to lead the design, modernization, migration, and security hardening of enterprise directory services platforms. This is a Sydney-based, onshore engagement requiring strong stakeholder engagement, executive-level communication skills, and deep technical expertise in Active Directory and hybrid identity platforms. The role is critical to improving identity reliability, strengthening security posture, and enabling ongoing cloud transformation initiatives across the enterprise. Key Responsibilities Directory Services Architecture & Engineering • Architect, design, and optimize enterprise Active Directory environments (multi-forest, multi-domain) • Lead Active Directory transformation, consolidation, and migration initiatives • Ensure scalability, resilience, performance, and high availability of directory services platforms Hybrid Identity & Cloud Integration • Design, implement, and manage hybrid identity solutions with Azure AD / Microsoft Entra ID • Implement and manage Azure AD Connect, SSO, MFA, and Conditional Access Security, Governance & Compliance • Implement Privileged Access Management (PAM) • Deploy Tiered Active Directory security models • Enforce Identity Governance, Conditional Access, and Zero Trust principles Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Practices • Apply SRE principles to identity platforms focusing on reliability and automation • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and drive permanent remediation Internal - General Use Automation & Tooling • Develop and maintain PowerShell-based automation solutions Stakeholder Engagement & Leadership • Engage with business, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and cloud stakeholders • Provide technical leadership and advisory to senior management Required Experience & Skills • 10 years of Directory Services engineering experience • 15 years of total IT experience • Deep expertise in Active Directory (GPOs, DNS, replication, trusts) • Strong experience with Azure AD / Microsoft Entra ID • Strong understanding of IAM, AD security hardening, and Zero Trust • Strong PowerShell scripting skills • Excellent written and verbal communication skills Preferred Qualifications • Microsoft Azure and Identity certifications • Experience in regulated or large enterprise environments • Experience in transformation and modernization programs • Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code and automation frameworks
