The Opportunity We're looking for an experienced and commercially minded Category Manager to lead the development and sourcing of furniture categories across our range. This is a hands-on, strategic role for someone who loves product, understands customer needs, and thrives in a fast-paced retail environment where innovation meets execution. About the Role As Category Manager, you'll own the end-to-end assortment—from concept and design through to sourcing, pricing and performance. You'll shape category strategy, build strong supplier partnerships, and ensure our products deliver exceptional value, quality and design. Key Responsibilities Product Strategy: Develop and execute category assortment strategies aligned to customer needs and commercial objectives. Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with local and offshore suppliers; negotiate pricing and commercial terms to maximise value. Product Development & Quality: Oversee product design and manufacturing, ensuring quality, safety and compliance standards are met in partnership with local and overseas QC teams. Market & Trend Insight: Monitor market trends, competitor activity, pricing and product innovation to inform category decisions. Commercial Performance: Analyse sales, margin and inventory performance; develop pricing strategies and ensure stores are stocked with the right products to drive profitable sales. Leadership: Coach and develop a Trainee Buyer, fostering a high-engagement, high-performance team culture. Who You Are Experience: Minimum 5 years' experience in a retail buying or category role, with strong product development experience. Furniture or homewares background highly regarded. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree preferred; retail-related qualifications advantageous. Skills: Advanced Excel skills with strong analytical and commercial acumen; confident using data to drive decisions. Attributes: A strong communicator and collaborator with high attention to detail, able to juggle multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
