This ongoing hybrid role within the Case Management and Registrars section at The Administrative Review Tribunal can be located in Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Hobart, Melbourne, Perth, Sydney or Darwin. Remuneration: The annual salary range for the position is EL2 - $140,890 - $160,176 p.a., plus a generous employer superannuation contribution of 15.4% Our Enterprise Agreement will deliver a 3.4% pay increase from 12 March 2026. About the opportunity Registrar Leads are required to design and implement targeted case management strategies for matters in particular jurisdictions. The advertised position will oversee matters in the Tax and Business, Veterans and Workers Compensation jurisdictions. Registrar Leads also act as subject matter experts, coordinate jurisdictional ‘communities of practice' and provide direction to other registrars in the management of their cases. About you: You will be responsible for managing applications for review from lodgement through to finalisation, or readiness for hearing by Tribunal members You will also have responsibility for developing, coaching and mentoring other registrars, managing performance and identifying training needs to maintain a high level of skill and technical knowledge. To be successful you will: Demonstrate ability to lead and manage a team to cultivate a culture of collaboration, Have the ability to manage and implement change, identify opportunities for improvement, and to promote a positive approach to dealing with uncertainty and ambiguity Demonstrate strong negotiation and communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex information clearly, make persuasive recommendations, and adapt to the needs of different audiences. Think strategically, exercise judgement, and ensure alignment of section activities with organisational priorities. Have proven capacity to deliver results, successfully lead or deliver complex projects, develop creative solutions, and manage risks appropriately. Be able to establish and maintain productive relationships with a variety of stakeholders, work collaboratively to achieve outcomes, and negotiate successfully. Have an in-depth understanding, or the ability to quickly acquire an in-depth understanding, of the Tribunal’s legislative and policy context, particularly in relation to the delivery of case management services to diverse users. Essential: A degree from a university, or an educational qualification of a similar standing, in the field of law, or An educational qualification, or training and experience, related to dispute resolution, or Experience related to one or more functions or powers of the Tribunal. Willingness and ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance Desirable: Accreditation as a mediator under the National Mediator Accreditation System, or equivalent experience in conducting resolution processes in a high-volume dispute or complaint setting.
