We are seeking a capable and community-focused Branch Librarian to lead the day-to-day delivery of high-quality branch library services based in Port Macquarie. This role combines operational oversight and professional guidance to staff with expert information support, ensuring our services remain responsive, accessible and aligned to community needs. In addition to branch leadership, this position plays an important professional role in supporting reference services, local studies and collection development. You will contribute to maintaining and enhancing access to local history, family history and specialised collections, and provide expert support to customers seeking in-depth research assistance. You will help ensure that our collections, both physical and digital, are curated, accessible and reflective of our community, while supporting staff capability in delivering high-quality information services. What You'll Be Responsible For Supporting the day-to-day operation of the branch to ensure consistent, customer-focused servicesProviding supervision, guidance and workflow oversight to Library Assistants and junior staffParticipating in frontline service delivery and modelling high standards of customer serviceResolving customer enquiries and operational issues using sound professional judgementSupporting access to collections, reference resources and local studies materialsContributing to the planning and delivery of programs, displays and branch activitiesBuilding positive relationships with local schools, community groups and stakeholdersIdentifying opportunities for operational improvement and service enhancementResearching and applying contemporary library practices and technologies No two days are the same, but every day supports strong team performance and meaningful community outcomes.
