Mechanical Fitters for Naval project About the Role WorkPac are seeking suitably experienced and motivated Mechanical Fitters to join our Defence client's team in a casual role until November 2026, based in Osborne SA. You will be a part of a high performing team as a Mechanical Fitter at the Osborne Naval Facility with opportunities for personal development and growth. As an experienced Mechanical Fitter, you can be from any background as long as you are reliable, safety conscious, punctual and physically fit. What you will be doing: Installing and testing mechanical systems and components Installation of bilge pumps and mechanical equipment Flange Pipe installations General mechanical repairs and maintenance Ensuring all work is performed in accordance to supplied engineering guidelines and criteria Demonstrate adherence to planned work schedules relating to the asset rebuild, the overhaul program and the required quality output Participate in and contribute to a diverse workplace culture, creating an inclusive environment for a continued high-performance team What you will need: Mechanical/Engineering - Certificate III in Mechanical Fitting/Fitting and Turning Strong knowledge of all mechanical techniques and systems Substantial & demonstrated skills in working within a collaborative, highly skilled work environment Sound level of skills in oral, written and interpersonal communication Other trade related tickets will be advantageous - Confined Space, EWP, Working at Heights and Forklift Current Drivers licence, White Card What's in it for you: Casual role, full time hours 9 day fortnight - day, afternoon and night shift $68.84 per hour penalty rates All applicants must be an Australian citizen and will be required to pass a national police clearance, naval security clearance & medical if accepted.
