THE ROLE We are seeking experienced Aged Care Support Workers to provide high-level physical and clinical support to elderly clients in their homes across Canberra and the ACT. This role is for workers confident in managing complex needs , including PEG feeding and hoist transfers , while maintaining the highest standards of dignity and respect. Casual position | 10–20 hours per week | Minimum 2-hour engagements per shift WHAT YOU'LL DO Complex Care: PEG feeding management and safe hoist transfers (Full/Standing/Ceiling) Personal Care: All Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including showering, grooming, and dressing with attention to skin integrity Health Monitoring: Observe and report changes in physical health, cognitive state (Dementia/Alzheimer's), or nutritional intake Domestic Assistance: Meal preparation (modified diets), hydration, and light household tasks Social Support: Companionship and transport for medical appointments or social outings ABOUT YOU Experienced in high-needs aged care, particularly PEG feeding and mechanical lifts Empathetic and patient, with an understanding of trauma-informed care and cognitive decline A clear communicator who builds rapport with clients and families, and maintains accurate progress notes Reliable and consistent with shift commitments REQUIREMENTS Qualification: Cert III in Individual Support (Ageing), Cert III in Aged Care, or higher Police Check: Current Aged Care Police Check (issued within the last 6 months) NDIS Worker Screening Check: Required as some clients receive dual HCP/NDIS-funded supports Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) Card: Current ACT WWVP registration required First Aid: Current First Aid & CPR certifications Transport: Valid Australian Driver's Licence and a reliable, insured vehicle Compliance: Working knowledge of the Aged Care Quality Standards SHIFT TIMES Morning: 7:00 am – 2:00 pm Afternoon: 4:00 pm – 9:00 pm Weekend and evening shifts regularly available for those seeking additional hours.
