The Company & Job: A well-established engineering and manufacturing business delivering complex fabricated systems across multiple industrial sectors. This leadership role is responsible for managing a multidisciplinary design team and driving engineering delivery across several concurrent projects. The position is ideally suited to an experienced engineer from an OEM, industrial equipment, fabrication, or design-for-manufacture (DFM) environment who is ready to step into a broader leadership role with genuine influence over people, processes, and outcomes. The Role: Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary engineering and design team. Oversee design output across drawings, models, and documentation. Ensure designs are practical, manufacturable, and aligned with project delivery. Manage design schedules, resources, and project priorities. Identify risks early and remove workflow bottlenecks. Drive continuous improvement across design processes and systems. Implement tools such as PDM, automated BOM workflow,s and design controls. Collaborate with production, quality, project, and commercial teams. Strengthen engineering governance and design standards. About You: Mechanical, Mechatronic, or Structural Engineering background. Experience within OEM, fabrication, industrial equipment, or manufacturing environments. Previous leadership or team management experience. Strong understanding of design for manufacture and project delivery. Ability to drive accountability and improve team performance. Commercial awareness and a practical problem-solving approach.
