What You Will Be Doing Pambula Health Service is a 14-bed sub-acute in-patient facility with a nurse-led assessment, treatment and care centre for walk-in patients. It is part of Southern NSW Local Health District and is partnered with South East Regional Hospital, a Level 4 facility, twenty minutes away in Beg. This role would see you share the in-patient and on call roster with two local GPs. Your Opportunity Provide best practice evidence-based In -patient general medical clinical services to achieve quality patient outcomes in a small Level 2 hospital. Provide high level care to medical patients, managing acute and elective medical admissions in a low acuity level 2 hospital. Ensure all clinical documentation is completed contemporaneously, including in assessment and plans within the electronic medical record, ward notes and other relevant documentation such as discharge summaries and death certificates. Utilise information systems to enable informed decision making and care planning. Ensure communication with patients and their carers, such that they are involved in their care and aware of the purpose of the plans for their care. Communicate with staff and clinicians to ensure quality and continuity of care. Engages in practices that promote the best possible health outcomes for patients/clients, and supports a culture of patient safety, clinical quality and innovation. Actively participate in clinical governance and quality programs and risk management to improve organisational processes and own practices. Work within a defined scope of clinical practice for this Level 2 sub acute facility. Comply with relevant legislation and regulations, NSW Ministry of Health policies and SNSWLHD procedures to assist in meeting Activity Based Funding, Commonwealth and State targets. Engages in practices that promote the best possible health outcomes for patients/clients, and supports a culture of patient safety, clinical quality and innovation. Selection Criteria Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist General Practitioner or training towards and within 6 months of Fellowship. Demonstrated recent clinical experience as a role in rural general medical inpatient setting. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership of a team. Demonstrated commitment to participation in on-call rosters and providing timely on-site. Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to all aspects of clinical governance. Demonstrated ability to consistently display a commitment to, and compliance with, and leadership in high quality Customer Service, Workplace Diversity, Occupational Health & Safety and Industrial Democracy principles, practices and relevant legislation relating to these areas and an understanding of and commitment to the organisation's values. Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination against Specific Diseases This is a Category ‘A’ position, please read and understand NSW Health policy directive PD2024_015.
