Permanent Full-Time positions in Newcastle (min 38hrs p/wk) $29.79 p/h super shift penalties Predominantly University based - location near public transport (bus and train), amenities for use, parking available Upskilling and paid training About the Role MSS Security is seeking experienced and technically capable Security Officers to join our team in Newcastle , primarily supporting university sites with opportunities across nearby locations. This is a permanent full-time role (minimum 38 hours per week) offering a clear pathway into Control Room Operator (CRO) and After Hours Duty Officer (AHDO) positions. The role is ideal for candidates with strong technical aptitude and prior control room experience who are looking to progress their careers. The position will initially focus on patrolling and frontline security duties, with structured upskilling and paid training to transition into CRO and AHDO responsibilities. Key Responsibilities: Conduct foot patrols across university campuses (indoor and outdoor) Lock and unlock buildings and facilities as required Provide directions and assistance to students, staff, and visitors Monitor systems and support control room operations Respond to incidents and complete detailed reports Communicate clearly and professionally with stakeholders Manage visitor sign-ins, inductions, and key registers Issue and track key passes About You We are looking for reliable and technically strong candidates who can manage multiple priorities and are confident working in a dynamic university environment.
