As an Underwriter, Workers Compensation, you’ll play a key role in delivering consistent, customer‑focused underwriting that supports our purpose and strengthens our market presence. In this dynamic role, you’ll assess and underwrite new business, nurture broker and customer relationships, and ensure risk decisions align with guidelines and strategy. You’ll contribute to delivering excellent customer experiences, maintain compliance, support credit resolution, and help shape insights that inform the Workers Compensation Business Plan. This role puts you at the intersection of service, risk expertise, and meaningful impact within IAG. This is a permanent full-time role based in Boorloo (Perth). What You'll Do Action Facility referrals within agreed timeframes. Assess new and renewable Workers Compensation business via a broker platform, analysing risk information, and applying sound judgement to deliver great outcomes for customers. Build strong relationships with brokers and customers by providing timely, proactive support and representing IAG with professionalism and care. Keep things running smoothly by accurately processing new business, adjustments, and renewals—ensuring every policy reflects the right terms and is delivered on time. Help resolve premium and credit enquiries, working collaboratively with Credit Services to ensure customers are supported and issues are addressed quickly. Champion compliance and quality, following underwriting guidelines, legislation, and company policies to ensure we operate with integrity and consistency. Share valuable market insights, contributing feedback on pricing and competitor trends to help shape our Workers Compensation business strategy. What You'll Bring You bring experience working with customers, and you know how to communicate clearly and professionally in both written and verbal settings. You enjoy being part of a team, contributing to shared goals and supporting colleagues to deliver great outcomes. You have at least 12 months’ experience or exposure to Workers Compensation or General Insurance whether with an insurer or intermediary and are eager to keep building your expertise. You’re confident negotiating and making sound decisions based on available information. You’re organised and detail‑oriented, ensuring accuracy when managing information, processing tasks, and meeting deadlines.
