Position Description: Site Supervisor – Cairns / Cape Tribulation Role Title : Site Supervisor Location: Cairns & Cape Tribulation Region, QLD Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent Salary Range : $120,000 – $140,000 Super Reports To: Project Manager / Construction Manager The Company Our client is a specialist ground engineering and geotechnical services provider delivering complex civil, marine, environmental, and remote‑area infrastructure projects across North Queensland. Known for solving technically challenging ground conditions, the business works on projects such as slope stabilisation, retaining structures, geotechnical drilling, soil improvement, foundations, and remote civil works. The Role This role suits someone who enjoys hands‑on field leadership, problem-solving on unique sites, working with both civil crews and geotechnical teams, and managing day-to-day site operations in diverse and challenging environments.You will oversee activities such as drilling, anchoring, earthworks, ground stabilisation, foundation systems, and general civil construction. The position offers stable long-term work, strong leadership support, and the chance to work on technically interesting projects that make a real difference to community infrastructure and environmental resilience. Key Responsibilities Site Operations & Supervision Lead and supervise daily site activities across geotechnical and civil projects. Coordinate labour, plant, subcontractors, and material deliveries. Ensure works are completed safely, efficiently, and to technical specifications. Conduct daily pre-starts, toolbox meetings, and site briefings. Safety & Compliance Champion WHS culture across site teams and subcontractors. Ensure compliance with environmental, cultural heritage, and site-specific requirements. Maintain accurate SWMS, permits, risk assessments, and safety documentation. Manage incident reporting and corrective actions if required. Quality Assurance Ensure works comply with engineering drawings, geotechnical instructions, and project specifications. Conduct inspections, monitor workmanship, and sign off on QA documentation. Coordinate testing, verification records, and hold-point inspections. Stakeholder & Team Coordination Liaise with project managers, engineers, clients, and environmental representatives. Provide updates on progress, risks, and resourcing needs. Manage subcontractor performance, setting clear expectations and standards. Project Execution & Problem-Solving Resolve onsite issues quickly and effectively, adapting to changing ground conditions or remote challenges. Support planning and sequencing to maintain program targets. Monitor plant performance, material usage, and site productivity. Qualifications, Skills & Experience Essential 3 years supervising civil, geotechnical, or ground engineering works. Strong understanding of ground works, earthworks, slope stabilisation, drilling, or foundation systems. Experience leading crews in remote or environmentally sensitive areas. Solid knowledge of WHS regulations and safety management practices. Valid driver’s licence and ability to work across Far North Queensland.
