The Rural City of Murray Bridge is currently seeking multiple Horticultural Officers to join our City Operations team. About the Role As a Horticulture Officer, you’ll be working outdoors maintaining parks, gardens and open spaces across the Council area. This role involves using tools, plant and machinery, carry out maintenance work, help with repairs, and make sure our community areas are safe, tidy and well looked after. Safety, teamwork and a strong work ethic are important in this role. What you’ll be doing Reporting to Team Leader Open Space, responsibilities of this role include: Maintaining parks, gardens and open spaces Operating tools, machinery and plant safely Assisting with Council maintenance programs Carrying out general horticulture and maintenance work Following all safety procedures and safe work practices Speaking with members of the public in a respectful and helpful way What you’ll need To be successful in this role you will have: White Card Driver’s Licence – Class MR Chemical certification (Chemcert) Chainsaw ticket – operate and maintain chainsaws Experience in horticulture, parks & gardens, construction or maintenance work Experience using plant, machinery and tools Desirable: Certificate III in Horticulture Traffic Management TC1 / TM1 Experience in local government or operation and maintenance of irrigation systems What We Offer 9-day fortnight with RDO Full-time, secure job Supportive crew and good working environment Opportunities to learn new skills and gain tickets Income protection insurance Health & skin checks Employee Assistance Program Family-friendly workplace Salary LGE Level 4 — $74,321 to $76,129 per year super (depending on experience).
