Billabong Zoo is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Supervisor to lead our front-of-house operations across Admissions, Zoo Retail Store and The Meeting Point Café . Our Supervisors play a key role in ensuring smooth daily operations, maintaining service excellence, and upholding the zoo’s commitment to conservation, sustainability, and community. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily operations across Café, Retail and Admissions, ensuring high standards of customer service, cleanliness, and presentation. Supervise, train, and support staff to deliver efficient, friendly and professional service. Manage POS systems, daily cash handling, and reconciliation procedures. Assist with rostering, inventory management, stock ordering and supplier coordination. Support food and beverage preparation, including barista duties during peak times. Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety standards. Monitor visitor entry processes, ticketing, memberships and online bookings. Respond to customer enquiries, both in person and via phone and email. Liaise with the Zoo’s management team to maintain smooth communication and guest satisfaction. Lead by example in promoting Billabong Zoo’s values of conservation, respect and sustainability. Essential Criteria Proven experience in a supervisory or senior customer service role within café, retail or tourism environments. Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and support a team. Experience with POS systems, EFTPOS, and digital payment platforms. Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities in a busy, high-volume setting. Understanding of food safety, hygiene, and cash-handling protocols. Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain before commencing). Legal right to work in Australia. Desirable Criteria Barista skills and experience in food and beverage preparation. Valid Food Handling Certificate or equivalent. Current RSA. Current First Aid Certificate. Experience within a tourism, attractions, or hospitality venue.
