Located approximately 60km from Cairns, Shanty Creek supports up to 25 residents at a time and is delivered by a dedicated multidisciplinary team of 8–10 clinical and non-clinical staff. Your Opportunity We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our multidisciplinary team. This is a 12-month temporary, part-time role (60.8 hours per fortnight) with the possibility of extension, subject to operational requirements. Preferred hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm (flexibility available) About the Role Our nursing staff play a key role in delivering low risk withdrawal support and meeting the broader health and medical needs of residents in the program. Key responsibilities include: Conducting comprehensive initial nursing assessments Monitoring and assessing residents’ health and wellbeing throughout their stay Providing supportive and routine nursing care Administering medications and supervising self administration Supporting residents through withdrawal in line with clinical guidelines Clinical Duties Undertake clinical assessments and deliver effective nursing interventions Coordinate GP referrals and hospital admissions where required Provide intake support and assist with residents’ transition into the residential program Manage medication administration, documentation, and clinical governance requirements About You You are a Registered Nurse with a strong interest in, or background working in, AOD and mental health, and a genuine commitment to supporting people experiencing complex life challenges.
