Temporary full-time employment with potential for ongoing conversion Located in Parramatta with flexible working arrangements, subject to prior approval Salary ranges from $149,739 to $173,174 p.a. plus superannuation and annual leave loading About the role The Manager Skills Policy leads and manages a team in the development, delivery and implementation of a portfolio of policy initiatives and reforms that support organisational objectives and Government commitments relating to tertiary policy. This includes providing strategic advice and coordination support across tertiary policy. The current position holder is transitioning to retirement, so we are looking for a new manager to take over with a supported handover period. The role will be temporary with a view to ongoing conversion when the current existing manager retires. Key accountabilities Lead research and analysis of complex policy issues, identify challenges, and develop evidence-based solutions. Provide expert advice to stakeholders to guide sound policy decisions. Manage the team to deliver policy commitments and major initiatives. Monitor and evaluate policy initiatives to detect risks and achieve outcomes. Engage with stakeholders to develop solutions and make informed recommendations. Oversee preparation of policy materials, reports, and briefings for decision-makers.
