The role may also include supporting and overseeing agricultural trainees within the region. Short courses include but are not limited to: operating and maintaining chainsaws, conducting front‑end loader operations, and operating tractors. The lecturer’s primary role is to teach, facilitate learning, assess and mentor students in accordance with relevant curriculum and/or training package requirements. Lecturers also undertake Professional Activities and Activities Related to Delivery. Relevant Qualification and Experience To be eligible for employment applicants must hold a Certificate III in Agriculture or equivalent and have a minimum of 5 years working in the area of expertise. Must have experience with handling and storing chemicals and in operating agricultural machinery such as, but not limited to tractors, telehandlers, front - end loaders and chainsaws. There is a minimum qualification required to deliver accredited vocational education and training (VET) as defined by the Registration Standards 2025 (2025 Standards), or its successors. The current minimum qualification required is the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122, TAE40116, or TAE40110), or a secondary teaching qualification with an Assessor Skill Set (TAESS00011, TAESS00019, or TAESS00024). Applicants who do not yet hold the minimum required VET credentials are still eligible to apply, however South Regional TAFE will require the successful candidate to be enrolled, and have commenced training in, an approved training and assessment credential and record satisfactory progress to enable the credential to be completed within two years from commencement.
