At the Patricia Giles Centre for Non‑Violence, our vision is for communities free from family and domestic violence. We support women, children and young people through safe accommodation, specialised counselling, and holistic outreach services. Guided by our values, we provide compassionate, trauma‑informed care at every step. We are seeking a Refuge Support Worker to join our dedicated team. This role provides client‑centred support within a residential refuge environment, ensuring safety, stability and pathways toward long‑term independence. About the Role Provide respectful, trauma‑informed support to women and children in crisis. Conduct risk assessments and develop safety plans. Assist clients with immediate needs: accommodation, food, transport and essential services. Provide emotional support, crisis intervention and active listening (training provided). Support clients to build daily living skills and confidence. Maintain accurate case notes, SHIP records and documentation. Coordinate referrals, appointments and multi‑agency case management. Participate in buddy shifts, including weekends/overnights. Contribute to a safe, supportive refuge environment. About You Diploma (or equivalent experience) in Community Services or related field. Experience supporting people experiencing crisis or trauma. Strong risk assessment and crisis intervention skills. Compassionate, non‑judgemental and culturally responsive. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment. Proficient with Microsoft Office. National Police Clearance (within 3 months), WA Driver's Licence and WWCC. Desirable: Experience with FDV, homelessness, mental health, AOD issues and complex needs. Why Join Us?
