Why This Role Matters The Traditional Owner Relationship Advisor role strengthens Horizon Power’s relationships with Traditional Owners across our service area. You will help uphold our reconciliation commitments and ensure our engagement goes beyond compliance to deliver long lasting, positive outcomes for Aboriginal communities. What We’re Looking For Establish and maintain culturally responsive relationships with Traditional Owners (TO) including Prescribed Body Corporates (PBC), Land Councils, Native Title claim groups, Aboriginal Knowledge Holders and Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations. Lead end to end engagement and communication activities, including agreement making and the implementation of our TO Land Negotiation Framework and Benefit Sharing Guidelines. Provide cultural advice, education and best practice advice and intel to internal teams engaging with Traditional Owners. Develop Aboriginal engagement materials and tools such as slide packs, information papers and briefings for a range of stakeholders including Executive team, PBCs, internal HP business units. Provide HP business units with consistent, respectful and culturally safe processes and practices to support land access due diligence, project development and delivery, and heritage agreement negotiations. What You’ll Bring Demonstrated experience in Aboriginal community engagement, Traditional Owner engagement, project management, Aboriginal heritage and environment or related fields. Strong knowledge of PBCs, Native Title bodies, Aboriginal protocols and engagement practices across WA. Ability to build trust, collaborate across diverse teams and influence positive cultural outcomes. Strong communication skills and confidence engaging with Aboriginal communities. Relevant tertiary qualifications (highly desirable) or equivalent experience. What’s In It For You?
