The salon is currently seeking a skilled hairdresser who holds a relevant Australian Certificate (or equivalent qualification) and at least two years of experience, or a minimum of three years of relevant experience in lieu of formal qualifications. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organisational and communication skills, present professionally, and be reliable, motivated and committed to delivering high-quality service. Moreover the ideal candidate would be responsible for delivering a full range of professional hairdressing services while ensuring high standards of client care, technical performance and salon hygiene. Key responsibilities include: Consulting with clients to determine their hair care needs, preferences and desired outcomes Providing professional advice on hair care, beauty products, treatments and suitable hairstyles Delivering a full range of salon services including haircutting, shampooing, conditioning, blow drying, colouring and styling Shampooing hair and conditioning the scalp before or after treatments as required Cutting, trimming and shaping hair for both men and women using appropriate tools such as scissors, clippers and razors Performing chemical treatments including colouring, tinting, bleaching, highlighting, lowlighting, straightening and permanent waving of hair Styling hair using brushes, combs, hair dryers and heated styling tools to achieve desired looks Creating specialised hairstyles including braids, dreadlocks and hair extension applications where required Shaving and trimming beards and moustaches where grooming services are provided Cleaning, colouring, cutting and styling wigs and hairpieces when required Maintaining cleanliness, hygiene and organisation of workstations, tools and equipment, including sanitising instruments in accordance with salon health and safety standards Arranging client appointments, maintaining service records and processing payments Ensuring a high standard of customer service and a positive salon experience for all clients If you would like to apply for the position please send your cover letter and resume within.
