About The Role Getting our people home safely to their families every day is our top priority. As Safety Superintendent, you will play a critical leadership role supporting the delivery of a major resource sector construction project in the Pilbara. Working on a FIFO roster from Perth, you will provide visible leadership and operational direction to drive health, safety and environmental performance across the project. You will work closely with the Project Manager, client representatives and delivery teams to embed best practice safety systems and foster a proactive safety culture. This role will see you leading and mentoring the site HSE team while influencing project leaders and frontline crews to achieve excellence in HSEQ performance. Key Responsibilities In this role you will: Provide visible safety leadership across the project, promoting a strong safety culture. Lead and support implementation of BMD’s Safety Strategy and Critical Risk Program. Provide operational HSE advice and guidance to project leadership and client stakeholders. Manage and mentor site-based HSE Advisors and safety personnel. Ensure compliance with client requirements, legislation, and BMD systems and procedures. Lead incident investigations and ensure effective corrective actions and learnings are implemented. Oversee audits, inspections and assurance activities across the project. Facilitate risk assessments, safety workshops and communication forums. Contribute to project planning including work method statements, project reviews and safety initiatives. Support training and capability development across the project team. About You You are an experienced safety leader who thrives in large-scale construction or resource sector environments. You are solutions-focused, confident influencing senior stakeholders and passionate about creating safe and high-performing project teams. To Be Successful, You Will Ideally Have Diploma or Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (minimum) Significant experience in HSE leadership roles within the resource or construction sector Proven experience working on large-scale remote or FIFO projects Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder engagement skills Demonstrated experience leading incident investigations, risk management and safety systems implementation Desirable ICAM or similar incident investigation training Certificate IV in Training and Assessment What We Offer At BMD, we are committed to supporting our people with long-term career opportunities and a collaborative workplace culture.
