Job Purpose This role will be responsible for working with the project leadership team for the running of the planning, scheduling, and project controls frameworks to ensure the six project constraints of time, cost, scope, quality, risk, and resources are effectively timely managed in line with company and project deadlines and reporting by the business implementation team. The primary challenge of this position is to ensure each project meets all the requirements and is completed in a timely and cost-effective manner to meet contractual arrangements made with the client. Key Responsibilities Lead & Manage the UGL Transport project controls and planning team (when appropriate), including planning and administrative personnel located at various site locations. Undertake rolling commercial project audits and report on non-conformances against policy and process and determine actions to achieve alignment with UGL Transport policy and procedures Ensure processes are in place and the update of these process outputs to ensure time, cost, scope, quality risk and resources are managed in line with established schedules and budgets. Undertake detailed forensic planning and delay analysis to determine opportunities for commercial advantage or protection. Prepare a suite of reports that allows for and demonstrates project performance to the baseline, identify deviations and determine causes through data analysis. Protect UGL Transport’s position with respect to time, which is a key part of the role and requires a level of assertiveness in dealing with internal and external stakeholders. Create management reports & dashboards, which include all time, cost, and productivity related information in support of any internal process and or contractual requirement. Escalate any issues where project schedule or productivity matters are impacted, including the provision of supporting claim techniques for any claims through thorough forensic/delay analysis. Provide regular briefings to Head of Commercial or corporate staff project financials, schedule status, issues, and concerns. Review detailed project schedules, S-curves, forecasts, productivity analyses in accordance with the project scope of works and report on findings and risks associated with changes or trends. Assist the Project Managers/ Construction Team in the scheduling, tracking progress, and updating progress within the Project Schedule to meet contractual requirements. Prepare Contract Schedules Using Primavera P6 advantageous and/or MS Project as specified in each contract. Track Project progress and monthly payment claims; tracking changes to drawings, site notices, variations etc. and resubmitted claims; Identifying poor schedule quality and potential schedule risks Qualifications Must possess a qualification relevant to the position and be experienced in the management of planning, cost, risk, and project controls on major transport infrastructure projects. Relevant Tertiary Qualifications (Commercial, QS, Engineering, Law) At least 10 years’ project controls management experience on major transport infrastructure projects. Have recent relevant experience in effectively reporting and communicating at a senior level with clients on major projects.
