The Role We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team for the 2026 academic year. As a key member of the Department of Learning Support, you will play a crucial role in providing assistance and guidance to secondary year students. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the educational journey of our students. This is a part time opportunity working with our junior school students for the 2026 academic year. Key responsibilities and tasks include: Providing one‑on‑one support to Junior School students with additional learning needs Assisting in the implementation of Individual Learning Plans and helping students work toward their personalised goals Working closely with classroom teachers to create inclusive, developmentally appropriate learning environments Facilitating small‑group activities and targeted interventions that build foundational academic, social, and emotional skills Supporting students in the use of age‑appropriate assistive technologies and learning tools Observing and recording student progress, and communicating clearly with teachers and parents/guardians to support each child’s growth Undergraduate teachers or newly graduated teachers with qualifications in Learning Support are encouraged to apply for the opportunity to immerse themselves in an exceptional learning culture. About you Experience working in a junior school environment, ideally with a focus on junior school students Knowledge of a range of learning support strategies and techniques Ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff and learning support professionals Strong communication and interpersonal skills Understanding of the diverse learning needs of individual students A patient, empathetic, and supportive approach Proficiency with relevant educational technologies and software A genuine passion for supporting the academic and personal growth of young learners All positions at Peninsula Grammar require: Current Working with Children Check & Police Check (or willingness to apply) First Aid, Asthma & Anaphylaxis Management, CPR Training - Current or willing to complete Mandatory Child Safety training – provided by the school upon commencement How to Apply Submit your current resume (with two professional referees) and a cover letter highlighting the following.
