Job Description You will be responsible for the continued development of our menu, negotiating with suppliers, maintaining a clean, safe & hygienic kitchen, effectively controlling food and labour costs, the management, direction and motivation of your team and working in harmony with the service team to ensure the best guest experience is maintained. Key Responsibilities: Lead, manage, develop and motivate your team to ensure your expectation of the kitchen operations is maintained and a positive & healthy culture is evident. Control of team recruiting, scheduling & performance. Continued development of the menu to cover relative seasonal changes & trends and the incorporation of new dishes to keep the menu vibrant and desirable for our guests. Preferred but not essential experience in Spanish / Mediterranean cuisine to complement our menu development approach. Control inventory through effective ordering and supplier negotiation to ensure food costs and quality are maintained and wastage is kept to a minimum. Oversee food preparation, cooking and presentation to ensure the high standards Duende is known for are maintained. Manage kitchen operations around smooth, timely and efficient service. Ensure food safety and hygiene practices are consistently followed. Work in harmony with the service team to ensure the very best guest experience is maintained. Requirements Proven experience gained at Head Chef level or another similar senior role Minimum 2-3 years of Head Chef or equivalent senior kitchen experience is required. Extensive knowledge of all aspects of kitchen management Talent & ability to create and execute desirable & exciting menus Strong leadership and the ability to effectively organise, develop and motivate a team The ability to communicate effectively The desire and passion to deliver the very best dining experience for our guests The ability to work under pressure Australian work authorisation is required for this position & we are not able to offer sponsorship
