This position is being offered in a Temporary Part-Time capacity (0.4FTE), 20 hours per fortnight. Who We Are Holloways Beach Environmental Education Centre\'s role is to assist schools and students to achieve explicit learning outcomes in the areas of Outdoor and Environmental Education. Both Centres provide residential and day visit programs linked to the Australian Curriculum to students from P-12. Your Role You will report to the Principal of each centre, working one day per week for each centre to provide leadership and mentoring to a high functioning teaching team in the following areas of the Australian Curriculum: Cross-curriculum Priorities Sustainability Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Histories and Cultures General Capabilities Personal and Social Capabilities Creative and Critical Thinking Responsibilities Include Provide guidance and documentation around program links to the Australian Curriculum Coordinate the creation of three levels of planning documentation as per Education Queensland\'s guidelines Manage the collection, analysis and distribution of visiting teacher and student feedback Manage social media content for each centre Liaise with departmental staff and centre staff to ensure appropriate pedagogies are used in the delivery of engaging, hands on environmental activities. About You Knowledge of and experience with Education Queensland\'s classroom profiling and Instructional Leadership initiatives. Knowledge of Marine and Estuary ecosystems The Ideal Candidate Will Have Experience And Qualifications In Cert 3 in outdoor education Knowledge of and experience with Education Queensland\'s classroom profiling and Instructional Leadership initiatives. Rock Climbing (single pitch and artificial) Knowledge of Marine and Estuary ecosystems Remote area wilderness first aid Aquatic Water Rescue and currency in application. High Ropes (linked, standalone elements) Crate Stack Canoeing Raft Building Bushwalking (class 1-4) Overnight Expeditions (1-3 nights) Orienteering Low Ropes Team/Group Challenges (e.g., Catapult Building) Freshwater macroinvertebrate studies Ability to make genuine connections with community partners Experience – leading and training staff to implement Indigenous perspectives in centre programs Skills to develop and train staff in areas of pedagogical practices – outdoor, experiential & student led learning Own transportation for travel between HBEEC and DEEC Flexibility of days when required would be an advantage Mandatory Requirements Current Queensland Driver Licence Current Recreational Marine Drivers Licence Own transportation for travel between HBEEC and DEEC Submit Your Application Attach a brief resume including contact details for 2 referees (referees should have an understanding of your relevant work history) Attach a 1-page written statement about how your achievements and capabilities meet the requirements of the role.
