Are you a reality TV lover, looking for someone to spill the TEA with during a regular catch up? We are looking for a kind and compassionate Croatian-speaking volunteer to spend time with an elderly woman still living and being cared for in her own home. She finds comfort in familiar language, gentle company, and simple moments shared with someone who understands their cultural background. Your visits might include: Chatting in Croatian Watching a favourite TV show (she is a big fan of reality TV) Reading aloud or sharing stories Listening to music in a relaxed, unhurried way Enjoying conversation and companionship What matters most is your presence — offering friendship, reassurance, and the joy of connection. This role suits someone who is patient, warm, and willing to give a small amount of their time each week to brighten the life of an older person. No special skills are needed beyond empathy, reliability, and a genuine wish to share companionship with someone who will truly appreciate it. By becoming a volunteer, you will be enriching a persons days with familiarity and kindness, while also experiencing the deep reward that comes from making a real difference in someone’s life. Your impact Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help older people feel less isolated. Your visits will bring great joy to the client you are matched with. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yxFDDi9bS6c HammondCare HammondCare is an independent Christian charity, supporting people to live in their homes and maintain their independence.
