Bradnam’s Windows and Doors is seeking a motivated and driven Production Engineer to join our Carrum Downs manufacturing team. Location: Bradnams Windows and Doors – Carrum Downs VIC Salary: $78,000 – $82,000 per annum This is an exciting opportunity for an engineering professional who is passionate about process improvement, operational excellence, and driving performance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will play a key role in standardising processes, improving efficiency, supporting production teams, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the site. About the Role The Production Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and improving manufacturing processes across fabrication, glazing, assembly, dispatch, and installation. Working closely with production, maintenance, quality, and supply chain teams, you will help optimise plant performance, support new product introductions, enhance equipment reliability, and ensure consistent quality and safety standards are achieved. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing hands-on operational support with data-driven improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities Develop, implement, and continuously improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Deliver training to production staff and ensure competency and compliance Monitor and audit adherence to standard work practices Lead continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, 5S) Analyse production data (output, downtime, scrap, rework) to drive performance improvements Support machinery selection, commissioning, and optimisation Assist with root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventative actions Provide technical support across aluminium window and door systems Develop and maintain KPI dashboards and performance reporting systems Support automation and digitalisation initiatives Contribute to engineering projects including new line setups and plant upgrades Ensure all processes comply with WHS regulations and company standards Collaborate effectively across production and support teams About You Formal qualification in Engineering (essential) Minimum 12 months of work experience industrial manufacturing or production environment Strong understanding of Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles Experience developing SOPs and delivering training (highly regarded) Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and act on production data Practical, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving ability Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with strong attention to detail At Bradnam’s, we are committed to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
