As a Senior GIS Analyst , you will translate complex spatial requirements into robust environmental outcomes. Acting as the primary conduit between the business and project delivery, you will coordinate end-to-end GIS workflows, oversee external partners, and champion continuous improvement to ensure our geospatial capabilities perfectly align with broader business objectives. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING Bridge the gap between strategic portfolio requirements and practical GIS outputs across multiple concurrent projects in varied ecological contexts. Utilize advanced geographic and remote sensing tools to map vegetation, classify land cover, and monitor environmental regeneration across Australia. Produce top-tier spatial assets, including maps, data suites, and audit/RFI responses, that strictly adhere to ACCU and regulatory frameworks. Direct, evaluate, and coordinate the spatial outputs of external consultants and service partners to ensure project milestones and high-integrity standards are met. Spearhead technical discussions with the Clean Energy Regulator (CER) and auditors, confidently articulating spatial methodologies. Develop, document, and refine Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to elevate our internal geospatial practices. Collaborate with operations teams to assess new spatial tools, enhance data integrity, and drive internal alignment on technical topics. Undertake occasional regional travel to project sites for data ground-truthing, workshops, and on-site field audits. MORE ABOUT YOU Demonstrated industry experience in carbon farming, environmental planting, or forestry , with a strong grasp of related ecological frameworks. Proven ability to leverage advanced GIS and remote sensing tools to generate premium spatial analysis and project deliverables . Deep technical understanding of Australian vegetation mapping and land-based carbon methodologies . Track record of driving the spatial components of complex carbon and water initiatives from inception to successful delivery within multi-disciplinary teams. Highly skilled at distilling complex technical requirements into clear, actionable work packages for external contractors and partners. Confident and experienced in presenting complex spatial data to external authorities, such as the CER and auditors, to support compliance and project registration. Proactive in streamlining geospatial workflows and building efficiencies through process automation. Adept at translating technical spatial insights for non-technical audiences, while successfully turning broad business needs into precise technical solutions.
