Our People Services team supports our Australian operations with a 560 work force of both Blue-collar, White-Collar and trainee positions. Due to growth and ongoing labour demand, we currently have an amazing opportunity for a People Services Advisor to join our team at Otraco. Working Monday to Friday from our head office in Kewdale. THE ROLE This role will provide advice and assistance to Otraco’s HR team across our WA, NSW and QLD operations at an exciting time for growth within the business. The role will have a strong hands-on focus with duties including: Maintain ongoing communication and provision of necessary advice and support to stakeholders on Human Resources issues. Participate in a variety of People Services initiatives and provide direction to line managers and employees. Perform administrative and generalist People Services tasks across the business to support effective HR operations. Ensure consistent application of policies and procedures across all Regions and States. Act as the first point of contact for all employment enquiries. Provide advice and assistance on disciplinary procedures, warnings and dismissals. Maintain Roster Calculations for Otraco Operations Nationally, create and update as required. Provide assistance to Managers and Superintendents with their direct reports with Probationary Reviews & Performance Feedback and Development Plans. Advise and assist Supervisors and Managers of their obligations when managing HR/IR issues. Implement succession planning across the business and assist managers in coaching styles relevant to their teams. Complete calculations and Payroll Arrangements for any relevant pay increase Liaise with Recruitment Team to ensure a seamless transfer of operational personnel. ABOUT YOU This role will be working within a small team and be the hub of the business, we require someone with great interpersonal skills, clear communication and high organisational capabilities. The demands of the role are ever-changing so the need to be flexible is a must. Ideally, you will possess: 2 years’ experience in a similar role with sound knowledge of business practices ideally with a mining background. Excellent communication (written and oral) skills. General understanding of Human Resources policies and procedures across the board. Highly refined time management skills and ability to deal with conflicting priorities. Ability to work autonomously and be self-driven. Ability to maintain integrity and confidentiality. Demonstrable experience as a valued team member with exceptional interpersonal skills.
