Full time, 2-year contract Exciting opportunity to lead a new program supporting traditional owners to look after Country and Culture across large parts of Northern South Australia. We are currently seeking a Ranger Coordinator to develop and deliver the Ngura Kantilya Kanyitjaku - Northern South Australian Ranger Program. South Australian Native Title Services Ltd (SANTS) has received funding from the National Indigenous Australians Agency (NIAA) to establish this Ranger Program in far northern region of South Australia. The Program will be delivered with four Native Title Corporations in Yankunytjatjara Native Title Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC, Walka Wani Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC, Tyajuwara Unmuru Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC and De Rose Hill-Ilpalka Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC. About the Role The Ranger Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the establishment and operations of the Ngura Kantilya Kanyitjaku - Northern South Australian Ranger Program. The Ranger Coordinator will play an integral role in overseeing a Ranger Program to look after Country - land, cultural heritage, culture and people. The Ranger Coordinator will work under the guidance of traditional owners and native title corporations including through Steering Committee. The Ranger Coordinator is expected to demonstrate strong leadership and show respect for themselves, the Ranger Team, traditional owners, land holders and regional partners. Key Responsibilities The Ranger Coordinator will: establish and implement the Ranger Program in collaboration with native title corporations. work with the Ngura Kantilya Kanyitjaku Steering Committee to develop and review project plans and implement work activities. coordinate the operations of a Ranger team to work across the native title determination areas to protect and improve Country. participate in field activities alongside Rangers and traditional owners to support Program delivery. support and build the capability of the Ranger Team. ensure compliance with policies and procedures and promote and maintain a safe workplace at all times. Engage and collaborate with land holders and regional partners to support and facilitate land access and Ranger activities. Qualifications and attributes Qualification or equivalent practical experience in land, water or cultural heritage management or community-based project management. Experience working with First Nations organisations. Willingness to work in remote areas. Current South Australian Driver's Licence.
