As a Mental Health Clinician, you will participate as a member of the multidisciplinary Cairns Child and Youth Mental Health Service. About us: Our primary objective is to ensure access to a comprehensive range of treatment and support services, clinical treatment, rehabilitation, disability support, as well as early intervention, and mental health prevention and promotion. Cairns and Hinterland Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs Service provide a range of innovative services, staffed by multidisciplinary teams with a broad mix of skills, knowledge and professional backgrounds. These currently include: Community Services, Specialised Services, Acute and Sub-Acute Bed Based Services, Access Services and Rural Remote and Indigenous Services. About your role: Provide effective and efficient clinical care and work in collaboration with Team Leader /Consultant Psychiatrist and Operational Manager, to ensure safe standards of care. Provide support and direction to professional staff including clinical and non-registered staff within the Child and Youth Mental Health Team. Use a bio-psychosocial model to conduct comprehensive mental health assessments, including risk assessments. Providing comprehensive mental health assessment, risk assessments, brief case management and tele triage within a multidisciplinary framework to ensure positive outcomes for young people and their families. Work with families and client's communities to promote recovery and community inclusion and to access generic supports, opportunities and resources. Effectively communicate at all levels across the organisation to promote team functioning. Undertake quality improvement and evidence-based interventions to ensure the provision of quality, cost-efficient care.
