The key duties of the position include: The National Capital Authority is seeking highly motivated professionals who are passionate about shaping the National Capital into the future, managing and enhancing the nationally significant parts of Canberra, and fostering awareness of Canberra as Australia’s National Capital. We are seeking to build a register of people interested in temporary (non-ongoing) employment opportunities in various roles and levels, to fill anticipated vacancies at the APS 1-6 Levels and Executive Levels 1-2 that may become available over the next 12 months. Note: This register will close 31 December 2026. Applicants who wish to be considered for opportunities in 2027 must submit a new application when the new register opens early 2027. As part of your application, you will be required to indicate your preferred work areas and classifications/levels. Positions available through the temporary employment register will be non-ongoing for an initial period of up to 12 months. Eligibility Under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999, employees must be Australian citizens to be employed in the Australian Public Service (APS). All applicants offered employment will be required to successfully undergo a pre-engagement screening check, even if they have a security clearance. The screening check is conducted in accordance with the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework requirements. The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the Baseline level.
