About the Role Heritage NSW is seeking Expressions of Interest for a six-month temporary assignment opportunity within our Heritage Assessments branch. This position is currently responsible for managing teams specialising in Historical Archaeology and Planning Referrals and Advice. Key duties include providing leadership and expert advice on heritage matters, overseeing planning referrals and heritage applications, facilitating best-practice assessments, engaging proactively with stakeholders, and efficiently prioritising high-volume tasks. About You The ideal candidate will be an accomplished heritage professional with demonstrated leadership abilities and comprehensive knowledge of heritage assessment, historical archaeology, and the planning system. You will bring: Proven experience leading and supporting teams in a heritage, planning or regulatory environment Strong technical judgement and the ability to provide clear, defensible advice on complex matters Well‑developed stakeholder engagement and communication skills The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver quality outcomes within timeframes A collaborative approach and commitment to capability building, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement Knowledge and Experience Demonstrated experience in conservation. Essential requirements Tertiary qualifications and/or extensive experience in heritage management, architecture, urban design, archaeology, town planning, landscape architecture or relevant field.
