This role is classified as Level 3 role under SBS Australia's current Enterprise Agreement with a casual hourly rate of $55 - $60 per hour (including casual loading). The successful applicant will be offered remuneration that is commensurate with their skills and experience and in alignment with this framework. As a rostered shift worker, additional shift penalty payments may apply for work performed outside of ordinary hours, including weekends and public holidays, as per the SBS Enterprise Agreement (EA). SBS may also require you to work reasonable overtime, where overtime will be paid at applicable rates in accordance with the EA. The Role Reporting to World News editorial leadership, the Cross-platform Journalist will report, write and compile news and feature content for SBS World News and Late News and other SBS World News platforms as requested. The role is based in Sydney. Key responsibilities include: Reporting international stories from Australia using internationally and locally-sourced material Reporting on national stories as required Covering breaking news stories and live reports About you We’re looking for someone who brings: Demonstrated TV reporting experience outside Australia/New Zealand. A wide knowledge of international affairs and issues Strong news writing skills and ability to report accurately and quickly under deadline pressure Proven ability to report live and deliver authoritative reports University degree 7 years journalism experience Knowledge of tv, audio and online workflows The Department SBS News and Current Affairs aims to provide the most accurate, balanced and detailed coverage of international and major domestic news across all platforms. It is our role to deliver depth and analysis to help our audiences understand often complex issues. Also key is to showcase stories from within our many communities that reflect constructively on multiculturalism & Indigenous affairs.
