We are seeking a permanent fulltime Grounds & Maintenance professional who takes exceptional pride in their work, adapts quickly to evolving needs, and contributes positively as a committed, collaborative team member. Located at Athelstone you will work as a part of a team who is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the grounds and property. Key responsibilities: Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the College’s sporting/playing fields/courts/facilities to ensure that the sporting/playing fields/courts/facilities. Mowing, irrigation, maintenance and upkeep of gardens and grounds, including the operation of ride-on machinery. Exercise high precision trade skills in construction, maintenance and repair tasks using precision hand and power tools and equipment. Attend to a range of property service functions of a large school maintenance program including building and grounds maintenance as directed by Grounds & Maintenance Supervisor. Provide assistance to the grounds and maintenance team at Junior School, IEY and Senior School as required/directed. The successful candidate will: Have demonstrated experience relevant to the specified duties of the position, specifically across a wide range of grounds and building maintenance services in general, dealing with a variety of trades and contractors as well as some exposure to minor building projects. Have demonstrated application and understanding of WHS requirements. Have high level analytical skills and ability to diagnose and problem solve. Be able to meet strict deadlines. Be flexible and adaptable, Be an excellent communicator with strong stakeholder engagement Work well in a team. Relevant trade/maintenance qualifications are highly desirable.
