About the Role The Family Support Program is focused on assisting parents who are experiencing stress that is impacting on their ability to parent. The Case Worker role provides support to families and children (aged 0 -17 years), with diverse needs and trauma experience, using a person-centred approach and by building relationships and developing motivation. The role is responsible for: Identifying and effectively responding to areas of need, concern or complex issues within the family unit using a person-centred approach Developing, implementing and reviewing case plan in consultation with all family members Working collaboratively with the child’s family and appropriate cultural representatives to tailor their approach in a culturally sensitive way Attending case conferences, reviews, planning meetings and community networks Facilitating high quality group work as required About You To be a successful candidate for this role you will have: Relevant tertiary qualifications (social work, psychology, or related discipline) and/or demonstrated experience in providing high quality support to children and families Knowledge of Child Protection Legislation, reporting procedures and current sector issues A demonstrated understanding of the barriers and complex issues that families in contact with the child protection system experience, and the management of these within a case management and legislative framework Current Working with Children Check Verification number Current driver licence and use of a registered motor vehicle What can we offer you?
