An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated Graduate Environmental Consultant to join our internationally recognised Environmental Approvals, Closure & Management team, from our established Mackay office. Articulate, motivated and reliable… we are looking for a team player with 0-2 experience in Environmental Consulting. Regulatory and/or mining experience will be viewed favourably but is not required, with the right attitude and aptitude we will provide you with training and guidance. Our Mackay team are fun loving, friendly and experts in the fields of Environmental Approvals and Management, Compliance, Mine Closure Planning and Rehabilitation and Monitoring. You will enjoy undertaking a range of project work whilst learning from this experienced team and developing client relationships throughout the region. You will also collaborate on exciting projects and initiatives with the national team and other teams within our multi-disciplinary business. Our team will empower you to develop your skills in targeted document development, technical understanding and project management. Responsibilities Your responsibilities will include: Building and maintaining effective relationships with our clients and internal SLR team members Compliance Auditing and reporting Environmental Authority amendments Assisting with the development of environmental management plans for mining and industrial projects Assisting with and coordinating the delivery of Mine Rehabilitation and Closure Plans and, Estimated Rehabilitation Cost calculations Assisting in the environmental monitoring across a range of areas such as surface water, groundwater, dust, traffic and more Environment Management & ESG Working within and supporting multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects across a range of sectors Delivering clear and precise, high-quality reports Regular travel to undertake field studies Experience To be successful in this role, you will be a positive and engaging character with a great sense of humour, as well as have: A degree in Environmental Science, Engineering or a related field 0-2 years experience in Environmental Science, Consulting, or Industry. Ideally, some working knowledge of QLD environmental legislation and policies, standards, and guidelines Ideally, some working knowledge or experience in the mining, infrastructure, power and/or agribusiness sectors Excellent written and verbal communication skills Intermediate skills in Microsft Office (particularly Excel)and ideally exposure to project scheduling software A strong desire to progress a career in Environmental Consulting and the ability to work within a highly effective and supportive team environment.
