About the Job This is a rare and strategic opportunity for a motivated workshop leader to secure a clear pathway into senior management. Located in Rocklea , our client is preparing for the retirement of their long-standing Manager later this year. They are seeking a technically sound Workshop Manager who is eager to shadow the current leadership, learn the operational intricacies of the site, and formally transition into the Branch Manager role upon his departure. You will initially focus on the heartbeat of the business—the workshop—while gradually taking on broader commercial responsibilities. This role suits someone who is not just a great mechanic or foreman, but a budding business leader looking for a long-term home within a stable, multi-site dealer network. You will inherit a settled team and a loyal customer base, providing the perfect foundation for your career growth. Key Responsibilities: Oversee the daily workflow of a dedicated team of technicians and support staff. Work closely with the retiring Manager to learn branch financial and operational systems. Act as the primary technical point of contact for key fleet and transport customers. Ensure high standards of safety and compliance across the workshop floor. Drive productivity and efficiency through effective mentoring and scheduling. Skills and Experience: Relevant trade qualification (Heavy Vehicle/Diesel) and a strong technical background. Experience in a Foreman, Lead Hand, or Workshop Manager capacity. An ambition to move into a full site management and P&L responsibility role. Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead by example. High level of professional integrity and a commitment to long-term career growth. A competitive salary package of OTE = c. $150k , including a vehicle, will be tailored to reflect your experience and the progression of this role.
