Job Advertisement Mobile Mechanic - Light vehicle servicing and repairs Mobile mechanic role with home-start travel across Perth Light vehicle diagnostics and repairs with profit-share growth Location: Perth metro, workshop and office in Welshpool RETAINED SEARCH / EXCLUSIVE LISTING About our client Our client is a Perth-based mobile automotive service business with one workshop and office in Welshpool and a team of six, moving to nine as part of current growth. The business has operated for six years and provides light vehicle servicing, diagnostics and repair work across the Perth metropolitan area. Technicians start from home, travel to booked jobs, and manage work through digital job scheduling and inspection systems. The business is building a larger operating footprint in Perth before moving into other Australian markets, with plans to establish more workshops locally and later expand to other parts of Australia. This creates a role within a business that is adding capacity, refining systems and creating future team structure. For the right person, this means a chance to join at a stage where output, customer results and day-to-day contribution can shape what comes next. You will work with owners who give staff autonomy, back their people, and support development through training, systems and a defined progression framework. About the opportunity This is a field-based mechanic role for a qualified technician who wants variety, autonomy and a pathway beyond day-to-day servicing. You will start from home, attend customer sites across Perth, diagnose faults, complete repairs, manage quotes and invoicing, and keep jobs moving through the system. In this role, you will: Deliver safe, reliable diagnostics and repairs with low rework Meet billable labour, parts sales and labour efficiency targets Complete digital inspections and job records for every booking Provide clear customer communication, quotes and repair advice Support strong review outcomes and repeat business To achieve these outcomes, you will inspect vehicles, identify faults, test drive where required, source parts, complete mechanical work, upload Digital Vehicle Inspections through ServiceM8, invoice customers and collect payment. Over time, the role can progress through technician levels across a 24-month roadmap, with scope to move into training or service operations once performance milestones are met. About you You are a qualified light vehicle mechanic who can work independently, manage customer contact and take ownership of jobs from first diagnosis through to completion. You are comfortable working on the road rather than in a workshop-only setting, and you understand how service quality, labour recovery, parts sales and customer communication connect to business performance. You may already be working in a mobile role or be looking to move into one where your output has a clearer link to progression. To be successful in this role, you will ideally have: Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology Repairer’s Licence Manual driver’s licence Experience in completing diagnostics, repairs, servicing and preventative maintenance Ability to work autonomously across customer locations Clear customer communication and service skills Experience working to outcomes linked to repair quality, labour hours, parts sales and customer satisfaction Your own hand tools and toolbox Working rights aligned with long-term employment in Australia You will also bring initiative, sound judgement and a practical approach to a role where daily work changes by location, vehicle condition and customer need. What’s on offer This role offers a clear link between performance and progression in a business that is growing its service capacity and future structure. You will work in a mobile setting where no two days are the same, with autonomy over your workflow and direct involvement in customer outcomes. The role includes a work van, diagnostic tools, laptop, phone and onboarding support covering systems, inspections, customer communication, quoting, invoicing and parts ordering. For someone who wants more than a workshop-only position, this is a chance to build capability across diagnostics, customer engagement, digital job management and commercial awareness. The business also offers a defined 24-month roadmap with staged progression through technician levels and future options in training or service operations. You will join a team environment where management trusts its people, supports development and is building for further growth across Perth and beyond. That creates room for a capable technician to build a longer-term career, not just change jobs. How to apply Submit your CV outlining your experience and suitability for the role.
