General Hands - No experience necessary | Naval Base | Day Shift & Afternoon Shifts | 8.5-10.5 hour shifts | Permanent Positions | $33.15 to $37.42p/h (plus optional Saturday 6 hour shifts $52.73 p/h) We have entry level opportunities available on day and afternoon shifts to join a well established company that provides metal coating services and are situated in Naval Base / Hope Valley. The role of General Hand performs basic tasks to set up materials for coating and also finish the final product and ensure it passes the quality check. Tasks include: Hanging items on racks to be coated Using a sander to finish off the product Use a spray can to apply spot repairs to coating Forklift operation to move steel items inside workshop if ticketed (LF ticket not required for the role) Manual handling of products, hanging steel for coating The work is done in teams of various sizes so an ability to work in a team is important. The work is medium paced and it's a pleasant environment to work in and management are very supportive. You don't need any experience for the role (except an ability to use a power tool, an orbital sander) however you must be able to fulfill the following requirements: Fit, healthy and able to work on your feet for 10 hour shifts Reliable - a car and license to get to work, as public transport won't get you there by 5am for dayshift Comfortable using basic hand and power tools Flexible to work on Saturdays from time to time Good communication skills and able to work in a team Able to lift 15 - 20kg on a frequent basis. The working week is Monday to Friday with Saturdays optional (6 hrs). Dayshift - 5am to 1:30pm (8.5hrs) Afternoon Shift - 3pm to 2am (10.5hrs) Dayshift is paying a flat rate of $33.15p/h, and Afternoon Shift pays $37.42p/h. Saturdays are paid at $52.73 p/h. Permanency is intended from 4 months onwards (subject to your performance and business needs).
