About the Role G'day, we are looking for experienced Boilermakers/Welders for site-based rail shutdown projects in the Wollongong area. This is a long-term 12–24 month contract , providing the chance to work on high-value, large-scale rail infrastructure projects . You’ll fabricate, repair, and install critical rail components , including structural frames, gantries, bogie parts, and specialized track infrastructure, all to strict rail safety and quality standards (AS/NZS) . Key Responsibilities Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints for rail shutdown works. Heavy-gauge fabrication and welding using MIG and Stick (FCAW/MMAW) . Marking out, cutting, grinding, and assembling steel components on-site . Collaborate with a team to meet shutdown timelines and quality standards . Ensure all work is compliant with rail safety regulations . Requirements Trade Qualified: Cert III in Engineering (Fabrication) or equivalent. Experience: Heavy fabrication experience; rail or rolling stock experience is a huge advantage . Strong attention to precision, safety, and quality .
