Position Summary : The Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner provides specialist behavioural and therapeutic support to participants of Momentum 360. The role focuses on the design, implementation, and evaluation of evidence-based, person-centred interventions that reduce behaviours of concern and improve quality of life. Practitioners work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure outcomes are ethical, measurable, and compliant with NDIS and legislative frameworks. Key Requirements : Essential Registration registration as a Behaviour Support Practitioner with the NDIS Commission. Demonstrated experience conducting functional behaviour assessments and developing BSPs. Sound understanding of positive behaviour support principles and evidence-based practice. Excellent written communication and report writing skills. Works indendently and can problem solve independently Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary and family-centred frameworks. Desirable Experience working within the NDIS environment. Advanced data collection and analysis skills. Training in trauma-informed care or neurodiversity-affirming practice. Supervison skills Job Responsibility : Assessment and Planning Conduct comprehensive functional behaviour assessments (FBA) and develop high-quality Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs). Identify the function of behaviours and formulate proactive, reactive, and skill-building strategies. Ensure all plans align with NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission requirements, including restrictive practices protocols. Implementation and Evaluation Implement and review behaviour support interventions in collaboration with participants, families, and support teams. Use data to monitor participant progress, measure outcomes, and adjust strategies to ensure continuous improvement. Support the gradual reduction and elimination of restrictive practices in line with best-practice standards. Collaboration and Communication Work as part of a multidisciplinary team including psychologists, therapists, and support coordinators. Liaise with families, carers, and external health professionals to ensure holistic care. Prepare detailed clinical reports, progress notes, and NDIS documentation to professional standards. Professional Practice and Safeguarding Adhere to the NDIS Code of Conduct, the NDIS (Restrictive Practices and Behaviour Support) Rules, and Child Safe Standards. Maintain participant confidentiality and act within ethical and legal boundaries. Report incidents, risks, or potential harm through Momentum 360’s safeguarding procedures. Capacity Building and Education Provide training and guidance to support staff, families, and stakeholders in implementing positive behaviour strategies. Mentor junior practitioners and contribute to a learning culture of clinical excellence.
